Biography
Sara Gouveia is an award winning filmmaker. Sara’s first feature length documentary “The Sound of Masks”, set in Mozambique, had its World Premiere at IDFA 2018 and won Best Feature Documentary at the Plateau InternaWonal Film FesWval 2019; 14th SAFTA Golden Horn Award for Best Cinematography 2020; Best DirecWon and Best InternaWonal Feature at the 7th Brasil InternaWonal Cinema FesWval 2021. Sara’s “Mother to Mother”, produced by The Ergo Company and Seashore Films, premiered at the 2020 Encounters SA InternaWonal Documentary Film FesWval, which praised it as “an engaging and thought-provoking work of cinema that expands our collecWve humanity” and awarded it second place in the Adiaha Award for best documentary film. The film has received 2021 SAFTA nominaWons for Best Documentary, Best Sound and Best Cinematography.
JESSIE ZINN is a filmmaker from Cape Town, South Africa. She is interested in exploring noWons of space and idenWty through filmic forms that push the boundaries between ficWon and non-ficWon. Her short films have traveled to fesWvals including Visions Du Reel and MoMA Doc Fortnight. She is currently in post-produc Won on her first feature documentary (“The Home”) which has been presented at IDFA Academy (2018), IFP Film Week (2018) and the Sheffield Meet Market (2019).She is currently based in the USA, compleWng an MFA at Stanford University.
