Rick Fernandes has held executive and creative positions as a director, producer, and editor. His creative accomplishments include three Emmy Award wins and 15 Emmy Award nominations—nine for directing, two for producing, and four for editing some of the most respected and celebrated programs, such as Sesame Street, Helpsters, Blues Room, Bear in the Big Blue House, Reading Rainbow, Out of the Box, Between the Lions, Johnny and the Sprites, Clarissa Explains It All, and We Are the Laurie Berkner Band. He is also very proud to have consulted on two international projects for Sesame Workshop, training the directing teams for their local adaptations of Sesame Street in Jordan (Ahlan Sissim) and South Africa (Takalani Sesame).
Rick served as Vice President of Series for Paramount’s Noggin educational streaming service until its closure last spring. In this role, he led four distinct and exceptionally talented teams based on both coasts: development, production, series extensions, and an in-house animation studio. Previously, Rick was the Executive Director of Original Production and Development and General Entertainment for Turner Broadcasting Asia Pacific for five years. Based in Hong Kong, he led a creative team to produce unique programming for Turner’s entertainment and niche channels in Japan, Korea, and India, where he co-created one of its highest-rated children’s series, Roll 21.
