Synopsis:
More than a music video of visual elements built over the musical track, “Wanna Be Basquiat” is an experimental short film, that follows an abstract narrative, in which João Pombeiro explores the industrial and suburban environment, suggested by the sound of Surma, using hundreds of clippings of images and old films, to build a small fictional universe, where the citizens of a small community work for progress, dream of prosperity and head towards a promising future. However, the result of that effort will eventually lead to their own destruction.
