Vertical time is an audiovisual essay about the filmic time-space relationship created between scenes from Maya Deren’s films from the 1940’s and original work of the film maker. Inspired by Maya Deren’s notion of vertical time, a visual poetry of emotions and ideas that exist outside of the dramatic narrative, we experience thoughts and feelings woven together and expressed simultaneously in the moment.
