Maria lives alone in the countryside, on a remote village. She is a woman of strong moral and religious beliefs. Alone and isolated, she has no way of justifying a sudden and unwanted pregnancy. Coming out of the hospital, where her pregnancy was confirmed, Maria doesn’t know what to do. “How to conciliate the demands of religion with personal will?”
But an accident might be the solution. She just needs to remain still. No one would blame her for an accident, right? Maria is alone. Maria finds her solace and battles solitude, but her refuge is now her calvary.
