Biography

Emanuel Nevado (Portugal, 1980) is a Stop-Motion animator and director. 
Emanuel has worked as an animator, director, screenwriter and puppet-maker. He has
directed 3 independent short films screened at more than 40 international film festivals.
After completing a Master in Direction and Animation in Stop Motion (Escola d’Animació
de Catalunya, Spain), he received a Certificate in Character Animation from the NFTS
(National Film and Television School in England) in partnership with Aardman
Animations.  
In 2014 he joined Aardman Animations where he worked as an animator in projects like
Wallace & Gromit, Chicken Run, Shaun the Sheep, Early Man and Morph. He has also
worked for Disney, animating in the TV specials Club Penguin.
Since 2020, he´s been a mentor to pupils from around the world at the Aardman
Academy. 
He started working with COLA Animation in 2018 when he animated on the multi-
awarded short film The Peculiar Crime of Oddball Mr. Jay. In 2020, Bruno Caetano
(director of Mr. Jay and producer at COLA Animations) invited him to direct With Each
Passing Day… Emanuel directed that project in Lisbon in 2023. 

Emanuel holds a degree in Musicology, from Nova University Lisbon, and studied Fine
Arts at Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes (Lisbon).
