It’s with great pleasure we introduce you director David Bonneville and his movie “Cigano” (Gypsy).
Biography
Bonneville (b. 1978) is a London-based writer/director with emphasis on character development and actor’s performance.
He has written and directed 3 award-winning narrative short films and is now developing 2 features.
David completed the Film Directing course with the German Film Academy and an MA in Screenwriting at the University of Westminster.
He kick-started his career by assisting centenarian Cannes Palm d’Or winner Manoel de Oliveira, John Malkovich, Catherine Deneuve and Turner Prize winner Douglas Gordon. He has also worked for Universal Pictures, HanWay Films and at the BBC.
He is an alumnus of the following talent schemes:

‘Gypsy’ premiered at the LOCARNO Film Festival.
It was SXSW South by Southwest Grand Jury Award nominee and one of the 5 Golden Starfish at the HAMPTONS. Other festivals includeGUADALAJARA, CORK, BRISTOL, TAMPERE, BREST and LONDON. It also earned a ‘Coup de Coeur’ distinction at the Festival de CANNES Court-Métrage.
‘Arch-in-the-Sky’ won the Best Actress Award for Sofia Ferrão’s electrifying performance at the International PORTUGUESE LANGUAGE Film Festival, and a Jury Mention at the Festival of NATIONS, Austria.
‘Heiko’ won Best Short Award at the MixCOPENHAGEN Film Festival and a Special Mention @ the SLAMDANCE Film Festival, Park City, Utah, USA. It has DVD\VOD distribution in the UK with Peccadillo Pictures.
