The Arte Institute will organize the first NY Portuguese Short Film Festival in New York as well as in Lisbon on 2nd and 3rd June 2011. The event will take place at the Anthology Film Archives and at Union Square Park (North Pavilion).

It is the first time that such an event will happen in the United States involving Portuguese cinema, connecting New York and Lisbon at the same time. The two day Festival will be screening twenty short films directed by Portuguese citizens in Portugal and abroad.

Thanks to the support of New York City Department of Parks & Recreation the entrance at Union Square Park screening will be free but seats need to be reserved.

The actress Benedita Pereira will be hosting the NY Portuguese Short Film Festival in Manhattan.
